Super Bowl LI, or 51 for those who aren’t into Roman numerals, is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. EST at NRG Stadium in Houston, TX. It pits Tom Brady and the New England Patriots against Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. The Pats have already been to six and won four Super Bowls in the Brady/Belichick era; the Falcons have yet to win even one. Vegas has the Pats as a three-point favorite, which means on paper the teams are pretty evenly matched. They also have +500 odds that Lady Gaga will suffer a wardrobe malfunction during her halftime show extravaganza. We’re hearing she’ll be joined by Tony Bennett, and he can be a bit feisty. The big game is being broadcast by Fox, and we’ve put together a list of local haunts that are hosting Super Bowls parties of various sorts. We also encourage the greater LynchburgDoes community to tune in for this year’s Kitten Bowl on the Hallmark Channel at noon, and for Puppy Bowl XIII on Animal Planet at 3 p.m.
