The local cycling community has a well-documented affinity for cruising for brews, usually of the lager and ale variety. But this evening, and every Monday through the end of the month, Blackwater Bike Shop (18869 Forest Rd.) hosts a ride with a softer drink as the reward. The 22-mile Root Beer Ride begins at the Blackwater’s Forest shop at 6 p.m. There are also ten- and 16-mile routes for those who’d prefer a shorter ride.
